| My main concept, the chief gem in my crown of writing. Hybrids takes a step
back from normal furry stories, to a place where a better overview can be
made. Whereas most stories I've read with furries could just as easily have
been made with humans, Hybrids is different. With Hybrids, the central
driving question is: what if you took the world as we know it, and put a furry
in it? What would happen then? |

| Torches Carried... is the first Hybrids tale I wrote. But Battle Scars is the
first, with regards to continuity. Here is the Hybrids concept boiled down to
its purity; a furry inserted into a human world. Scar is a red fox, he is
found one night in the middle of the woods, and he is smarter than the average
fox...
Parts two and three have some rather vague sexual content. Don't
read them if you're offended by that stuff. I've seen raunchier stuff
in a Marvel Comic, but hey, it's your call. |

| This story holds a special place in my heart. It's the first Hybrids tale I
wrote, and I still consider it one of the best. It introduces the series'
other main character, Perri Larson. Perri's a slightly distant reporter,
working to crack open a story. She gets far more than she bargained for,
however, and she has a deep, dark secret that may shock you...
As with 2 & 3 of Battle Scars, the Epilogue contains some sexual
content. As with Battle Scars, it is kept intentionally vague, so the
imagination gets to work. Don't read it if you'll think you'll be offended.
But you probably won't; it's not graphic. |

| Meanwhile, back in New York... Scar runs into a hybrid called Scourge. But
this hybrid is not friendly by any stretch... This story is darker and grittier
than my others. Scourge is not a nice guy and this trip into the way he thinks
may be unsettling. It also sets the stage for what is destined to be an ongoing
rivalry/hatred between Scourge and Scar. |

| NightBane is one of my favorite role-playing games, and it has many furry-style
themes to it. So it seemed somewhat natural that I write a piece of fan fiction
dedicated to it. The actual 'Bane series is much darker than is let on in this
story, but the story is about a NightBane's first Becoming, and it just didn't
seem right to jump into the hard stuff right away. The main character, Phil, is
about as average as a guy can be, but he holds a secret within him more
wondrous and terrifying than he could ever imagine. |

| This is a crossover, out of continuity, between the Hybrids and Disney's
Gargoyles. If Disney as a corporate entity is reading this, and wishes me to
remove these stories, I will do so immediatly.
The premise is dirt simple: what if Xanatos decided he wanted to catch a
hybrid for study? I bring in all three current hybrids, and a slew of
gargoyles characters for the grand crossover epic. It's placed after Scar's
return to New York after "Four Shadows" and between the first
and second seasons of Gargoyles. If I got anything wrong, I'm sure you'll let
me know. :) |
