| The following story was published in the combined (#18-19) issue of
YARF! As far as I know, the text of this file is exactly the same as the
published version.
There are several people who helped me to polish this story to the
point of being publishable, and I would like to thank them all: Vixen,
Terryann, Foxen, Celon, the writers on the studguppy (love that name!)
mailing list, and most especially my friend Trev, all of whom pointed
out the dozens of mistakes I made in the rough drafts of this story.
This story is the first in a series, and the second is half-written
already. Don't expect them to all be comedies. The only thing they'll
all have in common is the world I have created for them, and furries (of
course). Zeb and Charlie are my current 'heroes' of choice, and will return
in the next tale, but Arissa and Sharla came close enough to stealing the
show to deserve their own stories. Funny how 'throwaway' characters do
that sometimes... |

| The piece of work known as "Mundementia One" began life as we know
it as an absurd little idea that wormed its way into my brain while perusing
the sublimely silly newsgroup "alt.fan.lemurs", members of which
first took a relatively innocuous prosimian from Madagascar and created what
is perhaps the strangest single mythos for an individual species of African
wildlife that I have, personally, ever seen. |

| Muridae started as a noise I heard in the night. It lead to nothing (I never
bothered to investigate it,) but in this story I imagined what would have
happened if I did.
By the way: 'Murray' is the nickname for Muridae, a character on #furry on
IRC - the mousey looking friend of mine. Also - Chuck Warden is a character
very much like me. |

| Well I had been writing this story for a long time. Basically it had been
started as an experiment, a what if, if you want. I wanted to explore an idea
about genetics and what they could be used fore. It was almost a little like
some of my idealism! Well i thought about it, and worked it out. Because it
took a while to write there are some sections that seems a little out of
joint, or at least in my opinion! But I'll let you judge that for yourself.
